In reply to: Mal 's message, "Buying Jam a toy and playing with him!!!!!!!" on 05:49:30 09/07/02 Sat

I pulled up in my car and went to find mal. I saw her playing with Jam with his new toy. This gave me an idea. Mal put a lead on Jam and we walked into one of mals empty paddocks. I got a long line of string from my pocket and i tied it to his toy bunny. Next i told mal to hold on to one end of the string and run with it while i held Jam. So mal ran past with his toy bunny and Jam tried to get away put i held him. The next time I let him go after mal had got a head start and he chased. We did this a few time in the paddock then we went to do it on the track. Again he chased it. So i let him watch me tie the bunny to the hare rail. Then i started the bunny off, slow at first. and watched him chase it round the track at quite a good speed. Mal and I were very please with this result and i told her to try him out of the boxes tomorrow, with his bunny. Then do it again the next day without his bunny but to give him his bunny when he has finished. I told her that he will probably never race again if he did not get his bunny at the end of the race so she needed to make sure he did. Mal said thank you for all the training and i went back to my car to ride my horses for the first time in months.
