Subject: Just a side note, the EID stamp thing is back.

Seems the old EID stamp email is circulating again, describing the horrors whoever is currently president is visiting on the nation by allowing a stamp commemorating a Muslim holiday to be issued.

Fact is, the first issue was released on Sept 1 2001. Any other date is bogus, it does get periodically reissued, but that's because it does sell. It's got arabic characters on it that say (IIRC) Eid Mubarak - which means something like "have a blessed holy holiday" and is the traditional greeting at Eid.

It's not some commie conspiracy, it's not meant as a slap in the face to anyone, and for pity's sake, it's not a Muslim Christmas stamp, any more than the stamp with a Menorah on it is a Jewish Christmas stamp.

It's odd to me how the same people who preach about things being too "PC" are always the ones who growl the loudest about their own version of PC. So it goes.
