Two facts that can't be overlooked. There has never been a tax cut during a time of war let alone two. Also, it was undfunded as have been all of Bush's mandates.

Keep in mind, too, the wealthy get far more tax breaks that the average American. The same applies to businesses. How many times have we had proof that business and industries pay very low (if any) because of all the breaks they get?

Signs are encouraging in that new starts in home/apartments are up 17% from a month ago. Unemployment levels are dropping but about half of that drop is due to unemployed maxing out unemployment benefits.

We're seeing employment rising here but most of those jobs are in the green industry--not too many people trained in that. Here in the rust belt, the tonnage of steel sold continues to fluctuate--one week up, another one or two down. Most of the manufacturing jobs are related in one way or another to the steel industry.

I'd be the first to agree that we need to cut spending but I think a lot can be done in that area by eliminating programs that are obsoleteand unnecessary.
