I was pretty shocked. Giving up that governorship pretty well doomed her chances at winning the general election, ever. Doesn't mean she can't be the candidate, but she can't win. Ask Ross Perot about that one.

As to why, if you can pick a real reason out of that rambling and incoherent speech you are better than me. Umm, point guards pass so the team can win, but do they walk off the court while the ball is still in play? Does she expect anyone to really believe she's quitting because people said her youngest is really her younger daughters child? (About that, how many women have a preemie and show up for work three days later, anyone want to discuss that one? Sarah Palin is a very strange woman in a lot of ways, and that's not the least of them.)

Corruption charges? Dunno, kind of doubt it. I do think it's possible somebody promised to put her on Fox and then bankroll her next run though, and she just might have gone for that.

We'll find out the next chapter in the "Saga of Sarah" when it happens. Till then, I think we're all in the dark.
