Its all 'feelgood' stuff. The Republicans have already been told by the Democratic leadership that they dont care what 'concerns' the Republicans have, that the Democrats are passing ALL of their agenda without them.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has “ordered Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) to stop chasing Republican votes on the health care reform bill.

There’s a powerful weapon buried in the $3.6 trillion 2010 budget agreement that Congress passed Wednesday without Republican support.

It’s a fast-track rule called reconciliation, and it means that the president can move his top priorities with only a simple majority of votes in the Senate, instead of the 60-vote threshold that has derailed countless reforms in the past.

What reconciliation says to a minority party is: “We’re going to do this without you, and we have a way of getting that done."

The Republicans had this to say about the process

“Legislation so far-reaching should be fully vetted and given appropriate time for debate, something the budget reconciliation process does not allow,” they wrote.
