BOSS: I would be start with my name, date, time and number where they could reach me at. I would then go into a brief description of why I called or what I needed.

Client: I would again start with who I am, why I called and how they could reach me to retun my call. With a client, I would be very appreiative and clear with my needs. In closing, I would thank them for whatever business they have given me and make sure they know where and how to reach me at their convience.

Spouse: I'm pretty causal with my husband. I usually tell him why I'm calling (normally with a little to much detail - but I'm working on it!) and when a good time would be he could catch me at my desk. Closeing is usually - "Hope you're having a good day. Love you, Bye "

Child: N/A

Parent: Depending on why I am calling, I usually start with Hello, It's me, you're # 2 daughter. Just wanted to say I love and miss you guys. I won't be home tonight, but if you want, you can try to reach me tomorrow night after.... So really, I address them the same way. I tell them who I am, why I called and when they can catch me later. One thing I did do the other day was leave my mom my cell phone number and told here to call me ASAP. Well, when she got the message, she called and said, you need to slow down when you leave your number for people! I had to play the message 3 times to get the full number! So, as the book reccomends, I need to be sure I speak slowly and clearly when I am asking for an immediate reaction from whomever I am calling.

Professor: Again, I would be very brief and clear of what my needs are. I would start with my name, the class and night I am taking his course. I would leave them at least two ways to reach me and thank them ahead of time for their help.
