I would have to start with the 9 year olds. Instead of me talking at them, I would ask them a lot of questions. I would want to keep them invloved as much as possible. For example "Has anyone ever seen the Coke guy delivering pop to the school here?" How many of you has their favoite pop as Coke, Root Beer, Sprite or Mr Pibb?" I would bring pop and let everyone pick their flavor and I would also have our Polar Bear arrive at the end of my presentation to wrap things up. By providing them with "touchy - feely" props, it will keep their attention focused instead of wondering. I would keep the presentation simple. I wouldn't throw any numbers at them. They are much to young to grasp the concept of figures in a presentation.
