Blizzard neighs shrilly from her paddock and collapsed on the ground she began to heave and have contractions. She was going to give birth. Blizzard wickered to her all the way from his paddock by the stallion barn and got excited. He then got disinterested until she made more noises. Mercy ran out to her with all her birthing items. Black Ice contracted one more time and a tiny foal finally was free. Mercy sucked her nostrils clear and cleaned her eyes and ears and mouth and nose. Black Ice broke the umbillical and cleaned the baby and Mercy dipped her umbillical cord with iodine and blanketed the foal. She let them rest and then got the baby to drink the colastrum and then milked Ice and refridgerated the milk for back up. After the foal could walk she went out and began the foal imprint process and did this every day until the foal was not flightly or fidgety and led by a halter and lead.
