In reply to: Dorjan 's message, "Post 6" on 19:44:25 10/22/06 Sun

"Finally got you to let me stay, huh? Thank you, Dorjan. You've saved my hide once more. I guess I should send you a thank you note or something later." But, in fact, Gordon was more grateful than he showed. He had gone through a lot just to get 004980 out of South America. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a genetically mutated shifter out of a country via fake passport? Gordon does.

The slave, now named Kavi, stiffened as he was christened. He disliked others choosing for him. In fact, he disliked not being able to do anything for himself. Back at the labs, he was at least given liberty to choose different types of food and activities that the scientists approved of. 004980 had tasted the wonders of a hamburger and the wonder of sky diving (indoors, of course). He had no interest in dying, so the scientists had let him wander free for the most part. But this new society, with vampires Masters and strict rules was one that he hated.

004980, as he vowed he would continue calling himself, finally expressed an emotion other than fear: utter hatred. His mind told him that there was something behind this deal that he wasn't understanding, some kind of agreement over his mind and body that he wasn't okay with. At the mention of Kuro and Koen, 004980 finally understood what this was about. He was going to have to serve this ugly pig because this other ugly pig had stolen him from his very joyful home.

Gordon didn't bother to acknowledge the fact that Kavi seemed not to like him or Dorjan. He just wanted to not be killed for good. He thought for a moment about what Dorjan had said. "Yes, that would be best. Then, I'll explain what she can do now."

.. Dorjan didn't seem amused by Gordon's statement, but he allowed it to slide. He'd laid his threat, and he had his payment in advance, now. It was nice to let the other vampire do the work for him - especially since research had fallen out of his habits since, well, a while ago. Too much effort and not enough yield as far as Dorjan was concerned.

The stiffening that came onto the boy didn't pass unnoticed, even if Dorjan didn't give it any heed. Kavi would learn soon enough that he would have to listen abd obey around here whether he liked it or not. And eventually, he would learn to like it with a strong passion.

"Then do so," the smile was a little too crooked, as if he was addressing an ignorant child that he very much wanted to slap, "I'm sure she can find her way to you without aid." That right there was a biting statement with spiky implications. He turned from Gordon, again, facing Kavi. With a slow, lazy smile he reached out his hand to the tiger, palm up.

"Come along then, Kavi." Yes, he would restate the name until the other listened to it and believed in it. It was, afterall, another small form of power. That and Dorjan wasn't good with memorizing numbers. ..

Kavi, exiting Gordon

For a second, Gordon's undead heart felt a sting. He didn't leave an imprinting on their minds on purpose (at least, not all the time). It was just a side effect of his way of breaking them in. They were excellent slaves, though. Right?

Dismissed, the vampire left for the guest hall. There was no use in staying around and seeing his hard won prize being pawed at. It would just anger him some more. So, when Gordon left, and 004980 was left with a freaky vampire dude wanting to hold hands with him, it was a difficult situation to figure out.

"Kavi" blinked at the hand for a moment, unsure of what to do with it. He raised a quizzical brow at the other man and remained where he was. It was always best to not do anything when you weren't sure of the repercussions.

.. Dorjan's gaze shifted to chase Gordon down the hall, half-wondering if the other vampire was even actually going to the guest rooms where he should be headed. It was probably doubtful. His eyes slipped closed a moment, mind reaching out to graze Koen's. Head to the guest rooms and prepare a suite for Gordon. Make sure he finds it. Any pestilence that slipped into his mental waves were due purely to his own distaste for Gordon right now. If the other vampire hadn't been spying on him through a present, well, perhaps there would be a different story to be told. But things stood as they did, and so Dorjan played them accordingly.

He opened his black eyes to look at Kavi, staring for a few vampiric moments (which were naturally much longer than humans ones when one was starting, and far too short if one was moving) before speaking again. "You have a lot to learn about this place and your life here. The best thing to remember is that you don't freedoms unless you earn them." He didn't need to read the other's mind to be able to read his body language. It was apparent that Kavi would have to be walked through things, or shoved depending on his patience. ..

Koen quickly obeyed to the command, at once apologizing to Nyxia for leaving her. (I'll get to that sometime).

Kavi was beginning to wonder if the vampire had really just kicked the bucket and the rigor mortis had come around really early. But, when Dorjan opened his eyes, Kavi replaced his look of slight concern with one of annoyed boredom. "Why should I learn about this place if I'm only staying for a little while?" Even saying that made him quiver because of the memories of shattered glass and dead scientists still hung in his mind's eye.

His shoulders set against the onslaught of commands that he predicted to come his way, 004980 clenched his jaw tightly and sent what he hoped was a death glare to the undead. Maybe the guy would keel over and die. Wouldn't that be a nice way to end his day?

.. Dorjan quirked an eyebrow at Kavi's statement, though his patience was clearly gone from the look that was now apparent on his face. However, any shred of wanting to let the other know that things might be different disappeared from his thoughts once the shifter began to glare. Dorjan returned the look, ten-fold, bringing his hand back faster than any human and forward again in rapid succession to place a backhand across Kavi's cheek - a motion that was probably strong enough to make him stumble.

"You're lucky that you're alive right now. Keep that in mind. You continue to live by my grace, and your life isn't something that right now I would think twice about taking. Your purpose is to change that opinion, by doing as you're told." His voice was calm and even, though it was clearly driven by his own anger. ..

His body fell away from the vampire before his mind could comprehend more than the thought of "Wow, he's fast". Sitting on the floor with a now bruised and battered face, Kavi winced when he attempted to frown. It was apparent that the vamp was a short-fuse, but 004980 didn't care. I'm my own person. This is my body. I can do what the hell I want with it, he thought to himself.

Standing shakily, 004980 stretched to his full height, a decently tall 5 feet 8 inches of tiger shifter, and willed the vampire to just dare and hit him again. "I have a purpose. But, that sure as hell ain't it," he spat out.

.. He was happy to see that it had sent the other to the floor, but his mood seemed to canker even more at Kavi's thought. The boy certainly didn't know much about vampires, and even less about Dorjan. This process could take a little while, seeing how wild the other was - and determined. Perhaps that could all be channeled... eventually.

"You're a slave now, boy. Your body, your person, belongs to someone else." There was a small twitch near the corner of Dorjan's left eye as his face twisted into a smirk, baring pointed canines disapassionately. Kavi just kept pushing his luck with that running mouth - and head - of his.

Dorjan closed the space between them again, hand snapping out to twine fingers like chorded steel around Kavi's neck. He lifted him off the floor effortlessly, like he was nothing more than the morning's mail, and tightened the muscles in his hand.

"You will learn to listen, to obey, and you will learn to love the attention it affords you. Your other option is to become my dinner, or perhaps someone even elss desireable's dinner." Ah, yes, the calm was still there but it prevailed in that unearthly creepyness taht only a non-human could obtain. ..

Somewhat creeped out by the thought-reading thing, 004980 stood, dumbstruck. This whole vampire thing confused him and he wasn't going to have anything else to do with it.

That is, he was planning on having nothing to do with it until the vamp started jacked him up off the ground. The cold fear flooded through the unknowing slave's system. The thing that had set off his adrenaline was the lack of emotion that this guy seemed to have (or not). In threatening his life, the other male hadn't changed his expression. At all.

Kavi choked out a few incomprehensible words before attempting to nod his head. Remembering that this unnatural creature heard thoughts, he concentrated in his mind. We'll see about that. But, I'm not promising anything until I know what's in it for me. And I am not a slave. I may be different, but I'm no one's slave. Or so he thought....(pun pun)
