(HALIFAX)-Talk about mixed signals. No sooner does Harpoon's GM Stephen J. Holodinsky trade out of the draft entirely for the second time in as many months, then he turns around and trades back into it.

"We felt that a 2nd round pick wasn't going to land us the quality prospect we wanted," explained the GM after trading away both Toronto's 2nd rounder and Quebec's 2nd rounder of this draft. "That said we felt that if we could get into the top dozen or so picks, we would have a shot at someone who could help our club down the road."

With that rational in mind, Holodinsky approached Whitehorse GM Jeff Grothier and brokered a deal that will see Halifax give up it's 2nd and 3rd round picks in 2008 as well as defensive prospect Kiril Koltsov for Quebec's 1st round pick in the draft, 10th overall, which Whitehorse held the rights to.

"To be sure we are giving up a pretty good prospect in Koltsov and a couple of picks but we feel that if things break right in the draft we could end up with a pretty solid player," stated Holodinsky
