(Halifax)-Halifax Harpoons LTD, the parent company that owns the Halifax hockey club has purchased the rights to build on two acres of Halifax Harbour with the plan of constructing the new home for the defending champion Harpoons over the water. In addition to the rink itself there will be a luxury hotel to the east and a new shopping concourse joining the two. Each of the properties will have their own underwater parking garage. The cost of the project is rumoured to be in the millions. It is expected to be complete in time for opening night in the 2009 season.
