[Saskatoon, SK] While the Saskatoon Silos are still very much a rebuilding club, a couple elder statesmen of the game have been added to the roster for the coming season.

Making their way out to the prairie are forwards Scott Young and Dave Andreychuk, and defenseman Boris Mironov. All three are expected to play regularly, as it is hoped they can improve the Silos offensive output while also adding some veteran savvy.

At 40 years of age, Andreychuk is the oldest player on the Silos roster. While his playing time at even strength could be limited, Andreychuk will no doubt see plenty of action on the power play.

Young is 35, and is solid at both ends of the ice. It is expected that Young will begin the season on the first line to see if there is any chemistry with center Craig Conroy.

Mironov, at 31, is the youngest of this trio. He is expected to be the quarterback of the Silos power play unit, given his offensive gifts.

In addition to the three veterans, the Silos have also added three defensemen in their mid-20's- Radek Martinek, Ales Pisa and Joe Corvo. Martinek and Pisa are more defensively oriented, while Corvo possesses some offensive skill.

The additions of the three defensemen, plus Mironov, suggests that the Silos might move one or two defensemen. No rumors along these lines have come out, however.
