Ottawa, ON - Immediately after dropping an important game to the Ottawa Oaks, the Montreal Marauders announced yet another big trade, the fourth such blockbuster of the year.

"In an effort to make the playoffs, and to improve the overall talent of our team, we have traded Brad Richards and Simon Gagne for Peter Forsberg, Rod Brind'Amour and Sean Hill," reported team GM Sean Gallagher.

"We've moved up from second last in the league to one spot out of the playoffs, but we just needed soomething extra to push us over. I hope this is it.

"London has gone out and gotten better, and we're chasing them, so this is the kind of move we felt was necessary. Since I took the helm here in Montreal, we've rebuilt from the bottom of the GWHL pile. We've never had the ability or assets to acquire guys like Ilya Kovulchuk, Martin Brodeur, Ed Jovanovski, Al Macinnis or Peter Forsberg.

"Now we do. I hate giving up the youthful stars we have this year, but I love the current look of our team. I have confidence that we will be competetive now and in the future."

The new trio linked up with the Marauders late Wednesday and are expected to be in uniform Thursday, with the exception of Forsberg, who may miss a game or two due to an injury suffered pre-trade.

With the trade deadline looming, does Montreal have any moves left?

"Probably not," said Gallagher, "but I won't say definitely not."
