Subject: Montreal Makes One Last Move

Montreal, PQ - In a season full of change, the Marauders had to make one final move to tweak the roster they hope will get them into the playoffs.

In a late-day deal, the Marauders sent Adam Hall and an out-year draft pick to Saskatoon for aging -but-effective John LeClair and some cash.

The deal mirrors other recent Montreal deals, as youth is sacrificed for a better playoff team. The addition of LeClaire adds veteran leadership to the squad and yet another scoring presence. Likely to play on the second or third line and seeing powerplay time, LeClair also brings intangible help to the Marauders.

"His playoff experience, and his on-ice leadership and scoring make him a big asset for us," said GM Sean Gallagher, "we didn't lose anyone on the current playing roster, so I see that as an add-only for this year.

"We still have to try to stave off the London Lasers, who are pressing us hard, plus we have to assume that if we can get in the playoffs, we'll have to face the top ranked team in the first round. A guy like LeClair will help our team stay focused in a situation like that."

The move, Montreal's only deadline-day deal, means that the Marauders have changed out six of their Opening Day top nine forwards, four of their top six defenders and their number one netminder. Fans can complain that Gallagher is making too many changes, but they cannot say he isn't trying to get his team to win.

Montreal hosts the Western Division-leading British Columbia team tomorrow at the Forum. The game is sold out.
