(HALIFAX)-In preparation for next month's entry draft, the Halifax Harpoons have traded potential defensemen Keith Ballard and Noah Welch to Charlottetown for Charlottetown's 1st round draft pick in 2011.

"We fully expect that both Ballard and Welch will eventually play in the NHL," explained GM Stephen J. Holodinsky. "But with three of the top ten picks in the upcoming draft we needed to make room on our prospect list."

"They are pretty deep over there in Halifax," commented Ballard once he got off the jet to Charlottetown, "I think I have a better chance to play here."
