Ok, it is not VPN. I installed the software on my work computer and can cause the problem without VPN. I have now found the steps necessary to replicate it.
Steps to Replicate:
1) Batch Change an entire folders "title" to "Planning - "
2) Single open any file in that folder and change the title to "Planning - 10/10/2005" (basically appending the date)
3) Now single open any other file in that folder and you will see "Planning - 10/10/2005" in the InfoEdit tab and "Planning - " in the PDF tab.
