Subject: Sex Roles

True personality in my opinion is being able to be yourself and not have to worry about what other people say about you. Traditional sex roles in my opinion no longer exist due to the fact that we as Americans are in a totally different stage in life. In the past, a traditional American family was portrayed as the man worked the woman took care of the kids and the house. Now in today's society, both partners work and in some households there is only one bread winner and that is the female. I also feel that a person can not freely express themselves soley because society will look down on them. The example I will use to support my previous statement is if a female comes in for a job interview and she is very intelligent, has a bacholors degree and very polite, then the employer notices that she a nose piercing and a couple of tattos. ( times out 10 she will not get the job (even though she is qualified) because of the way she appears. Now that is her style and her individuality, so who is to say that she shouldn't be hired. Society because everyone is still stuck in those days where a woman should look, dress and speak a certain way.
