Fangirls? HA! In a new religion I have been dubbed the Goddess of Fangirlism. I gush on and on about my Bishies (Bishounen) and whine about how it isn't fair that they aren't real.
It doesn't take alot to be a Fangirl, since according to the name all you really need is to be a fan of something and be a girl. But to follow the deeper aspects of Fangirlism, that takes a little more effort. Memorizing names, both real and codenames (i.e. Nightcrawler, Kurt Wagner, Actor name: Alan Cumming; Doctor Octopus, Otto octavius, Actor Name: Alfred Molina) anf knowing the names of their actors so you can obsess over them too is also a good thing. It takes quite a bit of research and dedication to become a true follower of the Fangirl branch of "religion" if you could put it that way. I myself am i fan of a few different genres of my Bishies, though mainly anime and Marvel(obviously) and of course Harry Potter (I mean, who could hate Ron and his uber-kawaii-ness...and twin brothers *evil grin*).
My first bout of fangirlism was when I was actually very young...about 6 or 7 actually. I saw Speed racer and instantly fell in love with the hero. I believe I still have a picture that I drew of me and him getting married ^//^ Ain't cartoon love swell?
Lately, though, my heart has been spread over the map of characters I've seen. In the Marvel Universe it is mainly Nightcrawler (I have a serious weakness for Germans and Blue people...and hey, he's both! And he's just soooo sexy ^//^) and the infamous Doctor Octopus. Both of these characters found my heart when I went to see the sequels of both the X-men and Spiderman movies. In Harry Potter, I fell in love with all the Weasley's, but especially Ron. I also discovered my ability to hate and love at the same time with Draco, he's such a wuss, but he's sooo hot. ^//^ <3
Now my love of the anime Bishies, that's too extensive to write down in a day, but I'll name my main loves just to give you an idea of what characters I find most attractive. From Ranma 1/2 I invisioned my true love, Ryouga Hibiki. He's strong, handsome, hopelessly confused, and always lost. Trigun's Vash is a gorgeous man (his battle scarred body is to seriously die for in my eyes) and he's so sacred and religious. I would love to find a man like him....he's also a notorious pervert, which in my book is a plus. Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth...hoo boy! He goes by the saying (altered version) "Speak softly and carry a big sword" I love the mixture of long silver hair, aquamarine eyes and hig freakin masamune. I'm a huge fan of "intimate" weaponry, which is mainly blades, my favorites of which are polearms and of course swords. These are only a few of my obsessions, Bishie-wise, but I'm sure you get the idea.
Series-wise, though, Trigun, Chobits, Ranma 1/2, Naruto, Eerie Queerie, Negima and countless other anime and manga have entered my head and made me memorize soooo many things. I can name the creators of most of them. In America, it's X-men, NYX and Nightcrawler that i obsess over....even if they are all branches off of X-men itself.
Inconclusion, true Fangirlism can be summed up in a single word...yeah, that's right: Obsession. It's not always unhealthy people! Get used to it! Your Goddess says so! Anywho, ciao for now, mein leibe!
Much love,
~Lenore
