Subject: Response from an ex-employee

I got a phone call today telling me that someone had made a disparaging and untrue remark about Cheryl Lommer on this website. After reading everything that has been said by various people on this site I decided that I would post a message to everyone. Since I have already mentioned Cheryl, let me say that as far as I am concerned and I believe that Seth would agree, Cheryl never did anything to the Board or to the FPOA. For the last couple of weeks before she left her job (which she needed) she was ill all the time. We were very worried about her. She couldn't get in to see a doctor without a wait and when she finally did he told her that if she cared about herself at all she would stop working. My question to you is this...is the FPOA or the Board so very important that Cheryl should stick around and have a stroke from severe high blood pressure rather than take her doctor's advice? Is any job worth that kind of sacrifice? After she left I had to listen to a lot of remarks made by Phyllis about her....nasty, uncalled for, and untrue comments. I have put my email address for all of you to see, and I have identified myself.

Regarding the Board members, the only comment I have to say is that I never had a problem with any of them with the exception of Phyllis. I attribute some of the problems that I did have to her lack of judgement in certain areas. Sometimes she made decisions which did not fly too well, and rather than admit that these decisions were her idea, she denied them and blamed them on employees. When I left the job I was miserable about leaving. I dearly loved just about everyone and I still think of you fondly and miss you. I needed my job also, but it had become miserable. Regarding the vast fortune which I accumulated while I was there, I managed to do it on $7.00 per hour for the first three months and then got a 21% raise to $8.50. At the same time, I did not take the health insurance, which saved the FPOA approximately 1500 dollars per year. After 30+ years in business and mainframe maintenance, I was not at The Farm to get rich. I was there because I loved coming to work. I can't count how many people I miss there. Why don't you all just go on to better things than speculating on how all us ex-employees screwed the BOD over. I don't think any of you have the knowledge of both sides to make a statement against us, since I know I haven't spoken with you.
