Subject: How can we keep fog out of the pit?

We use dry ice fog for a production in an "historic" theater (read: dismal ventilation) The orchestra has a huge issue with the fog dropping down into the pit, because it drops the temp in the pit and increases the humidity level such that it throws their instruments out of tune. Not to mention the lack of oxygen. Is there a way to contain the fog on the stage? We cannot use glycol based machine fog: it slicks up the floor and this is a dance production. Also, we need the dense low fog that the dry ice produces. Is there a commercially available "fog dam" that can be rigged across the front of the stage and easily/quickly removed at the end of the scene? Any suggestions would be most welcome!!!
