hi guys! well finally got out to see that new pier that everyone has been talking so much about. well first of all it is about $24 to just set up ( that's $8 per rod and yes anchor rod is a rod)! then it cost 1.25 an hour t park near pier. from 9 am to 6 pm. so that now $11.25 ! next big problem is that the front of the pier is not made for us king fishermen! there is between 8 and 12 inches of concrete and no rod holders for the anchor rods. next there is no place to put fghting stick because if that king goes screaming like some do that BIG boy could break the line on the reel just by rubbing against side. next problem is that anyone can fish anywhere they want. talked to two guess that have tried to king and they hated it! Bottom fishermen all over your rigs and crossing all over them. could not keep baits in water over an hour. next hope like hell you got at least 45 feet of rope for bait buckets and long gaff rope. plus there is barely any place to tie off buckets too. i don't mind tourist at all because they in some way are the next king fishermen if you can teach them and they love it like i do! but one or two wil get hit by anchors being sent ocean way! they walk into everything, saw a man almost eat a gotha plug today twice. so never know what a 8 oz. anchor is going to do. next problem there is that they have no signs for what can and can't be caught there. i shark fish some times and asked if they agree with it and found out they don't care! but the city will arrest you for shark fishing within a mile of beach. so guess guys on pier are within that huh? but they have no sign about it and they are bearly ready for us to fish there. i tink best is for all us king fishermen to call and talk to them and see if they can cut us a deal and help us. but until such time i will stay at oak island and pray the kings come soon. god luck all and don't give up hope they wil be here soon!
