3 month old puppy, rescued, history unknown, has inner right toe abcess. The entire toe was about 3 times its natural size. Even so, puppy did not limp, perhaps because it is a baby pitbull. I hear this breed is tough. The vet said that the bone might be involved, a osteomalitis, in which case he claims the toe will have to come off. He gave me a bentadine flush to stick in the area he lanced. I got to do this painfull proceedure 1 days before the skin closed up. Now,after 4 days of antibiotics, I see little change. Any suggestions?
