Well ,I'm still a stalker , oh ! , I ment to say lurker on the forum and I didn't have this site location until this morning when Kathy posted it on the Humanehomesteader forum , Thanks Kathy . And I see an infection problem that is so simply to fix that I need to come out from under the bridge and give advice that will probably get ignored. ZINC is the best stuff I've seen for infections and I've even seen it get rid of a stubborn case of pink eye on a human that conventional medicine couldn't even control. Really I'd hate to see the popularity of Zinc become well known because then the price of it would go up so high , I'd think I was buying some illeagal contraband every time I needed to buy some. If you don't have the problem licked by now .Get some good quality , health food store brand zinc. Do not use the one they sell at wal-mart or value stores. It doesn't work . I've tried it. 50 mg capsules is the best vaule. Empty a bunch of capsules on a piece of paper and cover the whole infected area with it .Then force 2 of the capsules down the dogs mouth and give him one , every 3 hours for a couple of days. I have met a woderful vet , who one time even offered to put my cat to sleep for free cause it had cancer and she's aware of my lack of money situation. This was 3 years ago .Even the examination of the cat was free. She's a GoodHeart. If I had a problem with an animal or pet , all I'd have to do is explain what's wrong with the animal and she'd sell me the anti-biotics without even seeing the animal , if necessary. Yet I've seen Zinc work so muck faster and even work on chickens that weren't responding to vet prescribe and over the counter anti-biotics, that besides the cat with cancer ,I don't ever take her up on her offers of free help .The Zinc is superior than most anti-biotics I've seen at work . The only antibiotics I do use or keep in the house is Sulmet for cocidiosis that might affect my goats. Hopfully your dog is better by now.

Just for your information- the vet who sells you stuff with out even seeing the pet is doing so illegally. If you can't afford to pay the bills, don't get the pets. Or better yet, give up something else(ie smoking, drinking, whatever else is unneccessary in your life) so that you can pay the vet. They have bills to you know.

Ya know what,... You really have alot of nerve saying that people are smoking and drinking and that the money goes for that instead of taking care of their pets. People are here to ask for advice For the care of their pets,.not your smart ass remarks! You know absolutly NOTHING about these people and their life style and how much they love their pets. unfortunatly not everyone has the means to do what you seem to be able to do since you have such an opinion on how people should be. sooo unless you know these people and their life style you need to keep your mouth shut unless something comes good out off it instead of diarreah!

For Lisa: I've known some pretty awful vets. They're in it solely for money, money, money and couldn't give a crap about the animals. I had one who wanted to poison a dog everytime he developed a new bout of demodectic mange (he has immune system problems). She never looked for the underlying cause of why he was getting sick. Didn't even care. All she wanted was to have us bring him to her several times a week for dips and so she could administer strong systemic poisons.
So lay off the crap, all right? Of all the vets I've ever met (and that's a lot) I've only found one who had the animal's well being and that of its people at heart. The rest were money grubbing butts catering to the dog show and upper middle class set.
Hey, do you go around telling people who ask for public assistance for their kids they should give them up or do you just stand on a street corner flapping your lips about their personal lives without knowing them.
What a piece of work you are honey!
