Subject: SWOLLEN PAWS AND TAILS

HELP! There's these litter of puppies part black lab and rott, one in which I want to adopt. But the owner's whom are friends of ours from church, say two of the 4 week old pup's have now swollen paws and tails. the mother dog keeps them under a deck where it is dark. and their eyes now open they were able to get to one of the healthy big boy I chosen without seeing. Yet I am concerned for the others and should I for the Big Boy. Does anyone know what could cause this or if its an isolated by possbly a spider bite or disease. Thanks please reply soon.
