Well we entered the TON at Cairns knowing that the players hadn't trained together as a team since prior to the Mackay TON, and then to learn that Pat was out with a broken arm. Friday nights game against Cairns was an absolute shocker with Cairns totally taking us apart. The sooner we realise that we can't compete against these teams that train regularly the sooner we will become more competitive. Saturday saw us beat Mackay after a sluggish start and then we had to play the Heat. Although we went down to them in the end I was pleased with the effort put in by the team. Sunday we again struggled to shake of Lightning but finally did. All in all, considering our preparation, the Pat thing, and generally how the team is tackling training, we are lucky to still be 5 wins and 2 losses, still in the hunt for second spot. We need to run a different offence now that Pat's out and this hurt us this weekend. When we ran it we scored but we ran it way to few times. Maybe next TON we will be ready and have some confidence in our new offence.
