Combining the two associations at a junior level would not reduce anyones chances of playing rep. You could send the same amount of teams yet have a much stronger Division 1 level team.

Look at Under 18 boys this year.

Cairns 2nd and Mulgrave Div 2 champs, combine the 2 teams.
Div 1 champions and a second team that would go close to winning Div 2.

Would anyone beat this line up????

Kerry Williams
Curt Ahwang
Kris Johnson
Patrick Donald
Aron Baynes
Leslie Coe
Kris Whelan
Danny Nielsen
Richard Girle
Brett Stanley

8 either current or previous state players.
The truth is politics is killing some of these kids opportunities and at present it is mainly affecting Mulgrave kids. Kris Johnson is too good of a player to have to wait all this time for a chance to win a state title. Every other kid in that team was a cairns player, would they have gone well without Kris, well we beat the former state champs without him. Could we have won the state title without him, I dont think so. it is not hard, combine and play at the elite level every year with stronger teams. Dont, and yeah you give our kids the opportunity to play mediocre rep level basketball.

In short Kris, i agree. But winning a state title is pretty strong motivation.

>well done to all the guys in the team. its good to see

>team is because there are alot more opertunities to
>play rep up here.
