1 main rep association

I think we can take some of the ideas from the gold coast area, similar in many demorgraphics to the Cairns Coastal area.

In brief

1 main association for all junior rep until Under 23's

Cairns Coastal to be made of 3 feeder bases:

Cairns Kuiyam
Cairns City
Cairns Mulgrave

These centres could host their own competitions and participate in super comps between the three. Rep teams could be chosen from all three using a super comp as a possible selection criteria.

If numbers are there, potentially 3 rep teams could be chosen, for all 3 divisions at classics.
On completion of Under 18 duties for Cairns Coastal, players could play for their base association in the under 23 tropic leagues (hopefully female comp soon?)

The super league proposal would also strengthen senior comps, with under 23 teams etc being able to play in such a comp. invitiations could be made to regional centres to participate eg. mossman, innisfail etc, thus strengthening all of FNQ basketball.

I agree Gil, people will continue to make the best of the situation at present. However the quicker an amalgamation can occur, the better for basketball and any kids with potential in the area.

So count this as 1 vote for combining I guess
