Watched the semi finals of the Australian Open this evening.

This amazing scene unfolded during the Datuk's match......
There were a couple of thousand Indonesian supporters, Chinese supporters, Japanese, Thai, Indian and Malaysian supporters.
Whenever their countrymen or women came onto the court, the cheers and chanting started and continued on...like...
Indonesia, Indonesia Indonesia or China, China, China or India, India, India.

However when Datuk Lee came on, the chanting became LeeChengWei, LeeChengWei, LeeChengwei???
What happend to the Malaysian Nationalistic pride? Hmm...
This guy is a superstar on the badminton scene, he is a legend and he is a demigod who loves to ruffle feathers on a shuttlecock.
He even had the Indos cheering & chanting for him as he was playing a Chinese player Tian Houwei. Even the China supporters were chanting his name when he made some brilliant shots.

However, the Datuk was always behind and lost the 1st set. Then he was behind by 13-5 in the 2nd set. Caught up at 19 all and went on to win the 2nd set.
LeeChengWei, LeeChengWei, LeeChengWei the stadium exploded!

The last surviving Malaysian Mens Doubles of Mohd Zakry Latif & Mohd Fairuzizuan Tazari bombed out to an Indonesain pair. The Malaysians appeared unfit and had pouches to match. They did not look like top rate players at all.

Just some sporting news to break up the boredom.
You guys will have to appreciate your Country's good sporstpeople, becuase the outside world does.
