Saw your forum recently and need your help. My husband was stationed in Ubon 1967-68. After returning, the next year, he developed Type II Diabetes and lost teeth due to this. He now has many medical problems: Polyneuropathy,
Prostate Camcer just to mention a few. At this time we are gathering medical reports for VA & will be signing up for Agent Orange. If you can assist us with any proof of agent Orange during that time, we would greatly appreciate it. We also had a 30 yr old nephew die who was based at Udorn. I suspect the same with him.
I am very interested in reading your 150 page report.
How many miles is Ubon from Cambodia? I grew up in the south where crop dusters came over the fields. When it was windy the spray went every where but on the crops. Could this have also happened with Agent Orange?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

1970/71 Ubon (Ubol Thai spelling)35 miles from Laos, 50 Miles from Cambodia was a forward base and was attacked on numerous occasions. That is why the base was defoliated inside of the perimeter. I'm sure the infield was sprayed also. it was desolate.
I am now 66. I was the entry controller at the main gate (Main gate law enforcement guard in charge) I witnessed spraying on both sides of the main gate (perimeter) on many occasions. The deadly stuff drifted to our location and misted the guards American and Thai, civilians and GI's entering/leaving the base on numerous occasions.
I now have Ischemia, diabetes 2, neuropathy, (legs arms), radical prostate cancer, skin cancer and who knows what else. My brother said I was the poster child for A O. He advised me to make a claim at the V A. I did and in one and a half years am receiving 100% disability.
Aircraft regularly flew 35 feet overhead the main gate, lumbering with their heavy loads, to gain altitude when taking off. Many of these aircraft were filled with AO and were dripping the stuff as they went on their spraying missions. Although I am an exception I am proof that the VA pays for AO in Thailand but says you must have been a military policeman or resided or worked within 500 feet of the perimeter to qualify. If you are not able to submit a formal claim then I would remind them that in order to exit or enter the base you had to go by me ON THE PERIMETER. It was usually a 15 minute procedure in hot dusty conditions to enter or exit the base. This time adding up over a year qualifies most people on Ubon to submit claims for AO. No one stayed on the base for an entire year. Hope this helps if not E-Mail me for more info.

I was stationed at UBON RTAFB, Thailand from January, 1969 to January, 1970 and was assigned to POL where my job was refueling aircraft.
During my time I twice refueled C-123s that had dispensed Agent Orange.
I am sure I got exposed to Agent Orange during those refuelings. Those aircraft had not been washed prior to me refueling them so there had to be some Agent Orange residue on them.
Put in a claim to the VA for compensation for Agent Orange exposed but they denied my claim and stated there was no evidence Agent Orange was dispensed at Ubon even though I had sent internet articles that said otherwise.
Need your help with this.

>Saw your forum recently and need your help. I was stationed in Ubon 1970-71. Since that service I have contracted Type II Diabetes Retinopathy, Kidney disease, some heart concerns and other medical problems. I have submitted an initial claim in 2012 but was denied. In 2014 I sent a notice of disagreement and submitted a claim appeal along with any other evidence I could find. It has been over 2 years and have heard nothing. I may have time to submit additional information.
I know that agent orange was stored on base, planes were loaded on base that flew spraying missions, planes leaked the herbicide upon taking off from the base and landing on the base as well as the fence line and interior base sections were sprayed. But did not know I needed to take pictures at the time.
I am asking for any additional help you may be able to provide. You may have some information or reports I was not able to find along with if possible a copy of final findings by the VA on your case.
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
