Subject: The Beautiful Girl (short)

In response to Greer's most recent intellectually-addled project, I begin to compile a tasteful coffee table book of pictures of naked and partially-naked young girls, aged from about six to eleven, right before they hit puberty and their delicate aesthetic is irreversibly damaged by the dreary swelling of breasts, the wholly tiresome sprouting of soft pubic hair, and the eventual yawn-inducing rupturing of hymens. Being something of a photographer I take a great many of the pictures myself, either in the privacy of my own home, in abandoned warehouses, or in the home of the child, while her parents are away. I try to avoid sexually suggestive poses because that's not what I'm going for, but in the end it's up to the particular model, and if she wants to spread something, replicating the positions in the glossy magazines I have shown her, then that's her own prerogative - they are obviously mature enough to make their own decisions, otherwise they wouldn't be here. My purpose is simply to record and admire, and to hopefully encourage other people to appreciate it too. I build up a quite impressive portfolio and also source pictures from elsewhere, either via internet sites and chat rooms, or through other discrete channels - after all, I don't want anybody to trunk in on my exercise and start asking a bunch of questions that will, in all likelihood, damage the integrity of my art. One particular girl, Sophia, a nine year old Hispanic from the outer boroughs, is incredibly helpful and accommodating, and invites a number of similarly-aged friends and playmates to my home for what she refers to as a "Maybelline party", which is endearing in a commercially sickening sort of way. I get them all to strip down and hold hands, play about as they normally would if they were clothed, shooting reel after reel, and after a few embarrassed, curious pokes they get into the spirit of things and the whole day goes quite pleasantly. A few of them ask some thought-provoking questions about male bodies, and in the spirit of things I remove my own clothes and give them a demonstration. They seem fascinated and impressed, but in the end begin to giggle and resume their childish banter, which heartens me greatly. A number of less well-known publishers express interest in the collection, but I make it very clear that this is not about paedophilia or pornography - it is about the mentally stimulating appreciation of the bodies of six to eleven year old naked girls. Word eventually filters out and I am forced to talk with reporters from various international news agencies - I make jokes about what will probably happen to my reputation, but am sure to iterate the importance of the project. I try to encompass all cultures and nationalities but in the end am forced to ignore niggers and chinks because hey, nobody should have to look at that shit.
