Oh, wow. I didn't fully understand the letter that he/she sent to you; I didn't follow that your response, that infuriated him/her so, was simply "no thanks." I was actually trying to be careful in what I said, for fear that you really did say something offensive. So this package of work is pissed off by "no thanks?" Jesus.

You know, if people would put half as much effort into their poetry as they put into being pissed off that no one appreciates their poetry... Of course, it all boils down to people's asinine and infuriating belief that editors and authors are enemies.

It's a thankless job you signed up for, Jay. Why the hell do you do it?

Yeah, I'm behind on the bookstore, good stuff by you and RC Edrington and B. Z. Niditch are among the excellent books I should be advertising, but am not, yet. I could make you a more extensive list, but suffice it to say I'm not just ignoring you. Right now, I'm helping Michael Rothenberg out with the new issue of bigbridge.org. As everyone knows, he is the leader of the Big-Time Editorial Cabal, and I am happy to stand in his shadow as a Big-Time Motherfucker, doling out cruel rejections to lesser (but far wiser) mortals. Long Live Hitler!
