i own a vectra 2.0 tdi,1998 purchased in dec 2000 with 108k
miles, eml problems occurred aug 01,taken to local dealer cd bramall with light on,told bring it in on monday, took car in on monday to be told cant find problem,(giv us £32 for the privilege)car not driving as a 100 bhp,eml came on nov 01 and stayed on,taken to bramall's for tech 2 test mass air flow meter faulty,(£186.00 replaced under warranty)car seemed fine, apart from oil consumption, which i put down to high miles.oct 02 poor running problems on motorway, eml coming on,recovered to destination on low loader, mass air flow meter problem, diagnosed (replaced under vauxhall warranty (would have been £200.00).returned home to west country, more eml problems, taken to dealers in plymouth, new vacuum pump & pressure sensor fitted,(only £270.00?)a good friend of mine purchased an astra 2.0 di 38k miles on clock
at 40k metal fuel pipe broke, taken to local dealers in saltash, fault diagnosed as fuel pump fault, after fitting 2 new bosch fuel pumps problem remained,(£1770.00)as a good will gesture the injectors & seals were replaced f.o.c which cured the problem, funnily enough.I would not purchase another vauxhall due to un-reliability of the engine management system, oil consumption, and the very poor customer service from the two local dealers.i also advise any friends & colleagues not to consider vauxalls, recommend(peugeot,vw,citroen instead. My friend will also not even consider Vauxall.
