I will answer your missive in stages, sir ;) --

Indeed, yes ....

There are very few things in my repertoire that exist fully and compeltely, with nothing left to describe. I feel like that's not really possible -- the real world's not like that, so why should a fictional one, if it's going to be believable and compelling?
As for your feedback ... keep reading ....

Fish-eye lens. That's my exuse and I'm stickin' to it.
No, really, thank you. I share your interest in the behind-the-scenes kinda stuff. It's just a different experience being the one behind the scenes.

That's what I thought. I'll update probably Wednesday night.

Now, on to the meat of the matter: I'll set up a thread here in the Forum. In fact I'll even ask specific questions, so it'll end up being several threads, probably.

Aw, hell, Asnwered some e-mail, and now I forgot where I was.

Oh, right.
At any rate, I'll put up a few threads, all geared towards asking questions about the universe, or the style, or the tone, or the characters, or whatever I'm curious about at the moment.
In the meatime, I'm still working on Soshi's World, but it's a lot more complicated that it seems. How do you start? How do you divvy up and categorize? We can start with physical location, because I was clever enought to choose a real star system with a real proto planet, but after that, where do you go? I've seriously thought about taking a cue from my favorite AP History textbook, whose name I can't remember but whose heft I certainly do: Describve a stretch of time, and delve into scientific, political, and social movements, along with anything else that sorta fits in and is important enough to mention.
Which means Soshi's World's gonna read like a friggin' textbook.
But if you're all up for a speculative future history lesson without the gory details that mean nothing to the story, It Can Be Done ....
