Establishment of an Experiment

Okay. First off, go read my response to IMP in the "Evolution of a World" thread. ANd read all the way down to the bottom.

Right. I like his idea of bouncing ... er ... ideas off readers. And all opinions are welcome, even if they're critical, as long as they're respectful ("Hey, Lois, not that I'm raining on your parade or anything, but I just couldn't buy into Soshi wearing a pink tutu to work, unless under serious duress. Just doesn't seem to stem from the character.").

There are some things I'm a little stuck on; they haven't come up yet, and probably won't for the next few Quartos. Not that I've thought that far ahead, but you never know.

THere are some things I'm curious about; I'm treading new ground here, trying new styles and approaches to an old craft, and I'd like to hear what you guys have to say.

There are some things I'd like to debate; speculative future history has a lot of variables, and some readers may not agree with where I've taken mine. I'm curious to see if that's the case, and the whys behind the disagreement.

This is not to say that I'm fishing for compliments, or opening myself up to abuse. However, I do think a lot about these characters and the place they live in, and I like to think that others are inspired to consider things in turn.

That, and this is a tool to help me organize Soshi's World, which is a big honkin' mess right now. I mean a disaster. Never let me be the editor of a history textbook. Don't.

So, with that said, the rules are as follows: There Is No Rule Number Six. No, really:

If something comes to mind, I'll post it here and solicit responses. Anything is valid -- if the matter of the question didn't strike you either way, that's legitimate.

If anything should come to your mind, by all means post. Questions, suggestions, hearsay. I wanna read it.
