Reading other message boards, I think to many people whine to much. I've used the point buy system in systems where there is a 100 in your stats. You start with 660 points or so, with 8 types of stats. A 90 is 90 points, 91 = 91, 92 = 94, 93 = 98, etc. This is basic Rolemaster. In this situation Point buy system is nice, but in a basic dnd session it is stupid to use.

I've seen a few tournaments where there isn't any system of rolling. You got a sheet and you played it. Or another was you got a set of stats and you arranged those 6 stats how you wish.

Overall, in Inzeladun I like the 4d6 (drop lowest and at the end change the lowest total to 18) method.
For conan, I like the d8+10 method.
For Rolemaster I like the Point system (600+10d6 or 660).
For all Gurps I like to pour lighter fluid on them and light them up.
White wolf games is also a point system. But it works a bit differently with their system.
Most LARP, initialy point system...to pure RP.

I think personally a lot of ppl see that the point system works great with these other systems, why can't they work with them all. I think this is stupid. I like the different variations for each system, because each character generation was specifically designed for each system.
