Subject: I Love Rangers

3.5 and my recent experiences with Ibli and Torben have convinced me.

Working with Conan's Borderer class is even more exciting!

They totally rock -- especially with strong Int(skills) and Dex(archery).

I responded to a feats question on 3ebb and came upon this particular build progression: Rgr4/Ftr1/Rgr2/Ftr1/Rgr12:

Level 1 - Point blank shot
Level 2 - Rapid shot (automatic class feat)
Level 3 - Precise shot
Level 5 - Dodge (ftr bonus)
Level 6 - Mobility
Level 7 - Many Shot (automatic class feat)
Level 8 - Shot on the Run (ftr bonus)!!!!
Level 9 - Mounted Combat
Level 12- Mounted Archery
Level 13- Improved precise shot (automatic class feat)

The question was about getting Shot on the Run quickly -- but you can see how interlacing 2 levels of Ftr creates an almost continuous feat progression from 1st-9th levels!

Above all, the Ranger's Handle Animal skill is incredibly powerful . . . given time, a ranger could own a pack of Wolves -- or a pride of lions!
