Subject: AoO question

Let's say I have a rogue who enjoys using daggers. He has the rapid shot feat. He is next to an opponent and is using his rapid shot feat. With his first attack he attacks the opponent next to him. With his second attack he throws his dagger at a different opponent to save one of his companions. Does he draw an AoO from the adjacent foe when he throws the dagger at the other opponent?
