This also reminds me why I like the way we used to roll spell damage. 1d6 x 23. If you roll a six, you could do far more damage than the mere 90 points the other spell does. Of course, you could roll a 1. But that is what "Fate of One" is for, right?

In a way, I hate "average damage". Yeah it is fast, but it is very dissatisfying. I'd rather risk doing 23 points and at least having a shot at doing 138 points! Now we just settle for the 70 point average. Yuck.

I am definitely in favor of going back to the "old way".
