I'd rather face the picts than an army of nobles using their power of their name. Can't remember that "skill" where the noble shouts out his FULL name to cause some sort of effect.

All, in all, the picts are not that bad. They are just living peacefully. We, or rather our employers are the ones who are intruding on their land.
