That is an interesting idea. Robert E. Howard wrote long serieses (sp) of characters, as did Burroughs and others - yet he managed to maintain the atmosphere - once corporations got a hold of Conan and gave him to other authors, the first thing to go was the doomed atmosphere I mentioned in the start of this thread.
