Dear Friends and Family,
Yes, we are in a transition mode right now. We had our Life Skills graduation on Friday and I can't even begin to tell you how excited each one of them were to receive their certificates. On that day, about 1000 students all around Durban graduated the course. It's strange to not see the great throng of people coming in to our little bakery-turned-church-turned-home anymore. But backtracking for a little bit.
We had the almost the same schedule as the week before. The only other difference was that on Thursday, we had Pastor Msane come to share the Word in our group and he held an altar call. About 80 of those students rose up to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The beauty of it was that these students have received and heard the Word almost consistently daily for four weeks. It was like we were basically laying the foundation and on Thursday, they were ready to make the decision. The genuiness of it could be seen in their eyes, their hearts as many approached the altar broken and ready to receive God's healing in their lives and to surrender their all to Him. I almost cried as I saw three of my girls go up there with tears in their face and prayed the sinner's prayer. There was great celebration amongst us and amongst the angels. It was a great day.
In the afternoon the rest of the group went to God's Golden Acre for the last time. i went with Muzie (our coordinator for Mpumalangga) and Nelly to shop for our little party that we were having for the graduation. We had quite a bit of an adventure coz we didn't really forsee the problem of carrying all those things between the three of us. But God provided a person to help us carry the things and even sent a trolley with us when we went to the butcher shop. God is so good He takes care of even the little details!
I think that that's basically the highlight of our week this week. Saturday we went to Durban where Joe White had arranged a job fair for all the Life Skills Centers. It was held at a park and oh boy! Was that park full! Plus, that's where the interviews for who was to go to the Leadership Course was held. I'm praying for the people that we nominated to go. It's only by nomination, not everybody can go.
So now, we are staying in Mpumalangga till Thursday and on Thursday we will be moving to Phoenix. It will be a big change for us because it's moving from the Zulu culture to the Indian culture. Please pray for us.
I think that as we have succeeded in obeying God's voice to disciple this community (Matthew 28:18-20) our lives have transitioned and our lives have been changed as well. I can definitely see it in our team. We were so different when we left Australia. We had our wrinkles, our own desires, and own motives for doing the things that we did. But as we grew together and in the Lord, more and more we are becoming of the same mind and of the same heart to win the lost for Jesus. Just as I know that the people that walked out of that Life Skills course will never be the same again, I know for sure that when we leave South Africa, we will never be the same again either. Something has happened in our lives, God has touched us and it has created a shift, a change of mind in us even as He has worked through us. He is so committed to see us change and become more like Jesus everyday - and I love it! In this way, I know it will impact more peole for Jesus.
God bless you all and I pray that God is doing something great in your life as well.
His servant,
Kristine
