Memories! -- Nnaemeka Chira, 14:48:49 11/19/02 Tue

Hi Uzo,
You brought back great memories!.

Uzo, my name is Nnaemeka Chira and I am from Awkuzu in Anambra State. I was a student of Government College Afikpo (later Afikpo High School) from 1973 to 1978. Ever since I left Afikpo up to this date, the memories of the Afikpo culture has not escaped my memory. I remember the wrestling matches (as you mentioned in your website); I remember the male initiation ceremonies; I remember Nkwa Umuagbo - I particularly remember Orie Mbe (their lead dancer in those days). I remember my friends at Ukpa na Amachara; I remember Ngodo; I remember swimming the cross-river; I remember so much about that town. I am not from Afikpo, but I love that town; I want to go back their. My schedules would not allow me to get to Afikpo during my last visits but I will make it a point of duty next time.

I will like to connect with you; I really have a lot of questions that you may have answers to. I hope to talk to you Uzo!.

Nnaemeka Chira

JOKWA O! -- ULU, 10:00:15 01/10/03 Fri

Uzo, Jokwa o! nwanyi di nma !!
You have been creating waves at 'home' in your efforts at exposing the rich cultures of ehugbo. Jokwa once more. Chi gi gbagi ume. I work and live in Lagos and have always longed to create an enviroment for outsiders to see the rich cultures of ehugbo on first hand basis. You have beaten me to it. However, the challenge is for us to ensure that the infrastructure is put in place so that outsiders can come and stay in peace amongst us so that the can enjoy what we have to offer. Also, it is important that the indigenes are encouraged to keep these cultures alive since it is our unique identity. God bless you.

Mask -- Henry, 03:03:33 09/26/02 Thu

Where can I buy the masks displayed on this site? They are so beautiful. I expecially like the feminine ones worn at the "Njeje parades". Please, if anyone has the info; post it. Thank you. Good detailed job on the site.

hi, Uzo -- Chris, 11:46:55 09/18/02 Wed

Uzo, looking at the pictures from Indiana everyone looked big but you. It is neither good nor bad, just an observation. You look very different from the people of your "village". How do you stay so thin? Oh well,
keep up the good work. I enjoyed this site. But nothing will beat my daily doze of Uzo on uzo.com. Love your pictures. When are you going to do another dance video? You look better than ever and it would be nice to see moving images of you.

Afikpo must be a fun place

Big Fan,
Chris

Hello -- Jason Walters, 19:17:17 09/17/02 Tue

The "Indiana" pictures are very nice. Seems yall had a great time. I have never heard of Afikpo untill someone told me about a new site just devoloped by Uzo. I am a big fan of Uzo but I did not think it was going to be this good. The images are strong and moving.
Just one problem: No tourism infomation! Where can one stay when they visit Afikpo and blah blah?
I will appreciate you creating a page for tourists.
You did a great job

JW

Good job Uzo! -- Ngozi Egwu, 20:50:43 09/15/02 Sun

God bless you for the creation of WWW.afikpo.com. I respect you for the good job and wish you greater success. I hope the purpose for which it was created is achieved. I think there are some typographical errors in the names of some of our villages like Ndibe and Ugwuegu for example; and I suggest you have them edited.
In all, keep the good work up and while you are doing that, please remember that Jesus and heaven are real.

Stay -- Rita, 21:01:43 09/15/02 Sun

When exactly do they perform the "njeje parades"? If I decide to go Afikpo village so that I can witness this, what are the dates of the performances? Can someone please tell me. Thank you

This is a great/informative site. The creators did a good job. I am glad i stumbled on to it.

Uzo, this is your best web site -- Mandy Johnson, 10:34:09 09/13/02 Fri

I have always wanted to visit the motherland and now I see that I must do that. It is now or forgetit. Afikpo has a wonderful culture. Reading this site was fun. I felt like I was in your village. I was imagining being there and actually seeing the masquerades lol.
Anyway, I like uzo.com but this your new site is the best.
I can't for you to go home December and return with more pictures from your village.
Thanks for keeping it real, Uzo

Uzo, you have my respect now -- Harry G, 12:03:43 09/12/02 Thu

This is a great site you have created for your "village". Your people have a rich culture and I hope to one of these days go there. You are not only intensely gorgeous, you are also very smart. I am very proud of you. I have always seen you are as pretty face but now you have my RESPECT. You are brilliant. After all these years in America you are still close to your roots. Take care and God bless you.

You are CERTAINLY not just another pretty face to me now.

NOTE: You should sell videos of one of the plays you talked about on this site. I know that I will buy.

Harry

Afikpo is Beautifil -- Michael Cutter, 10:08:47 09/12/02 Thu

Afikpo is a beautiful place. My wife and I would love to see some of the things talked about on this site. We shall be visiting Nigeria next year and our 1st stop will be Afikpo. This is a great site filled with good information. We hope to see the masquerades mentioned here when we are there. We were especially taken by the "okumkpa" play. Now that is art!
The creators of this site did a great job. Keep it up.

Michael and Lisa
