Subject: Blue Job Moutain

Blue Job Mountain has some of the most unusual rocks I have seen in NH. They are schists, not granite, some are deep red, they sparkle and flow in the sunlight. They are full of flaky mica and black biotite, the other form of mica. Because of the reddish rock, the mica takes on a golden hue, and the rocks look like gold. I understand this is a sign of intense metamorphism of the original rock. I recommend a visit here for anyone who loves geology.
