Alex:

There's a reason why I bleed Red when I get cut! ;)

Glad you're enjoying FHO. While writing the story had been nothing short of a wonderful experience, I must state that becoming friends with Dewey was by far the best part of the whole process.

Working (writing) with Dewey is unbelievable. We each bring some elements to the table that inspire both of us to increase the quality of what we are writing. I had the privilege of meeting Dewey and his family on a trip out to the west coast. We worked for almost 12 hours straight, and we did not want to quit. Unfortunately, I had to catch a plane the next day.

The story of Brian and Pete woke something up in me that had been dormant for a long, long time: the pure love of writing and the act of creation. When he gave me permission to write about Chris Forn, I dove into it with a single-minded purpose. The story runs over 450 print pages, and I started it on May 4th of this year. Dewey encouraged me every step of the way, lent valuable corrections, edited about half the work, and made some fantastic suggestions. If you need to find someone to work with in writing, find someone like Dewey.

I will warn you that Dewey can be quite evil. I had planned on writing something completely different next, but he kept asking questions about FHO and the plot. This, of course, got me to thinking about what happens in the life Chris and the rest of the people in his life after the end of this tale. Well, FHO 2 (probably not the title) was born of Dewey's constant urging. As soon as I finish editing FHO, and complete some collaborative work with Dewey, I am going to grind out the continuing story of Chris Forn.

Of course, my writing schedule will have to be altered when hockey season starts!

Thanks,

Drake
