Subject: SOS Children



I am sponsoring a Family in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, I am hoping that small Children can escape poverty, OK I canīt save everyone but I can sleep at night knowing that I can use my Western/Northern European riches to help send a Child to School AND feed her whole Family. I am here not to preach, I mean you guys have Families and I know and appreciate how hard it can be raising them never mind keeping them together, but I donīt have Children but I regard little Paula da Souza as a member of my Family. I always discard charities as I feel it is the Governments responsibility to look after itīs own, but Brazil is another matter, they have given us Samba, Football, Rainforest (The lungs of the Earth), coffee (for all you late night poets) and beautiful Animals...so I suppose I am saying Thanks to them by offering something to a Native. This is something that changed my mind and I reacted immediately. The picture is of me in a Rio suburb and it goes a little something like this...




Another Child is born
into the gutter,
a shack for a Maisonette
and breast fed by her 14 year old Mother,

Iīm looking at the supposed Father of this baby,
maybe mid 30īs or so, fat belly stretches his dirty vest that is saturated in last weeks cheap grocery beer and I ask him in his native language...

"how are you gonna feed her?"

(shrugged shouldered response!!!)

I sigh... visit consolation, I pop my head into the cool shawl that covers this little beauty and ga ga with her, cool I thought! No matter how rich or how poor one may be, ALL newborns seem to constantly

resemble a World leader.
