~cumulus breaths floating
upon frigid platforms,
stretched before me
as a fog of eternity,

eyes burning from
pyre's blaze,
dry trembling
hands brushing
saline sadness.

dreams swaddled
in funeral cloth,
desire cut into
tiny morsels
in terracotta
vessels in
clove sweet,
wax-sealed
words huddled
upon parchment
rolls, secrets
told...

watching the
eventide float of
my heart aflame
nearing
horizon's edge,
to be buried
within the
night of
forever lost

hollowness
reigns as
the last
flicker meets
distant
prospective
point

fading in
ashen waste...
