Chapter 8 ~ A Changed Mind, and a Forgiving Heart

The Lopez Fitzgerald’s phone rang. It was mid morning and Theresa was about to leave the house when she picked up the phone. The voice on the other line was seductive and familiar to her. “Meet me at our spot,” The voice said.
Theresa grabbed her bag, and left in a hurry.
At her destination, Theresa got out of her car and stepped up to the door. The door was ajar, so she went inside.
Inside there were candles burning and soft music playing. A bottle of Champagne was chilling on a table with two glasses half full. Theresa threw her bag on the sofa next to her. Suddenly, from behind, hands touched her shoulders and slid down her arms to her fingertips. Her arms then lifted slowly above her head as the hands moved seductively down the side of her heavily breathing body. Theresa gave a great sigh as her cohort’s tongue met her neck. He turned her slowly around still kissing her gently until his mouth met her lips. Her chest now heaving great sighs as he placed one hand beneath her, lifting her, and the other behind her neck letting her hair flow backwards.
“Oh Theresa,” the male voice cried out.
“Oh Ethan,” Theresa gasped.
“I love you so much,” Ethan replied as he placed Theresa down on the sofa waiting beneath them. “I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t forgiven me.”
Theresa, still kissing him between words said, “I love you Ethan. You are my life. You help me breathe in and out everyday. There is no way I could live without you.”
Ethan then started undressing a ready Theresa. Slowly lifting her blouse above her head and kissing her neck as he continued undressing her.
“Oh Ethan,” Theresa cried.
“Theresa I’ve got to have you right here, right now!”
“Yes Ethan! Now!”
Right at that moment the door to the beach house flew open.
Gwen standing there with fire in her eyes cried out.
“I knew you would be here with her!”
Theresa and Ethan jumped up startled at the sight of Gwen standing there with a gun.
“Gwen NO!” Ethan cried out just as she fired the gun.
Ethan was sweating as he woke up from this continuing nightmare that has haunted him ever since Theresa’s party.
“It’s been a month now, and I have been having this same dream. What does it mean?” Ethan said to himself as he got out of bed.
There was a knock at Ethan’s bedroom door.
“Come in,” Ethan said.
“Hi dear.” Ethan’s mom said entering his room. “What are your plans for today?”
“I have some errands to run before Gwen and I meet tonight for dinner.”
“Oh! All right. I was wondering if you would drop something off at Theresa’s house for me? It’s the final touches of my up coming fall dinner party here at the mansion.”
“I don’t know if that would be such a good idea.”
“Why not Ethan?”
“I am the last person Theresa wants to see right now.”
“Why is that?” Ivy asked placing a hand on her son’s shoulder.
“Well Theresa and I had a fallen out about a month ago, and I did something to hurt her feelings.”
“Is that why she decided to work out of her home instead of here?”
“I believe so mother.”
“Well don’t you think you should apologize to her? I hate to lose a great personal assistant like Theresa over something so trivial.”
“What makes you think it is so trivial mother?”
Ivy grabbed her son’s face. “Do you think a girl could not forgive a face like this?”
“You don’t understand mother. What I did was unforgivable.”
“Well Ethan what ever it was I know you didn’t mean it, and If you explain that to Theresa she is sure to forgive you. Now the papers are on my desk downstairs. Try and make that your first stop this morning. I want her to get on that right away.”
“O.K.” Ethan said, looking nervous about speaking to Theresa after four weeks.
