Theresa was relieved to find no one at her house. Her mother was already gone to work and would be getting off soon. Her oldest brother Luis was still body guarding Sheridan Crane, and Miguel was probably out with Charity.

She quickly changed out of the clothes Ethan let her wear, and got on the telephone.

"Hmm, no answer at Whitney's. I wonder where she is."

Just at that moment her doorbell rang.

"That must be Ethan."

Theresa ran to the door and opened it with such enthusiasm.

"Oh it's you Whitney." Theresa said sounding disappointed.

"It's good to see you too Theresa."

"I'm sorry Whit. I thought you were someone else. Come in." Theresa pulled her friend’s arm jerking her in from the outside.

"What is wrong with you Theresa? And where have you been? I've been calling you all morning. When your mother told me that you were out with Noah last night, I called over at the Bennett's house. Noah told me that you ran out of the restaurant and that Ethan ran after you leaving Gwen behind. What happened last night, and why were you out all evening?"

"I thought you would never ask!" Theresa said excitedly.

"I spent the night with Ethan."

"You what! Are you crazy?"

"No Whit! I'm not crazy. I'm more in love with Ethan now than I've ever been."

"What did you do Theresa?"

Theresa told her best friend to sit down, and she began to tell her each detail of last night's events. She told her how Ethan came looking for her and found her at the beach house. She told her how they danced with each other and how he took things very slowly with this being her first time.

"You what!"

"Shhh... Calm down Whitney. Ethan and I made love and it was wonderful."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing. I can't believe you did this."

"What do you mean you can't believe I did this. You know how much I love Ethan. It was a matter of time before I showed him just how much. And last night he showed me just how much he loves me."

"Theresa I'm not so sure you made a wise choice in sleeping with Ethan. What about Gwen? What about his family? There is no way they will accept you in their world. And Gwen! When she get a hold of you, you're gonna be in real danger."

"I'm not afraid of Gwen. And besides, Ethan is not going to let her do anything to me."

"Ethan can't spend every waking moment with you. He's a very busy man. What will you do if you have to face Gwen alone?"

"I'll just cross that bridge when I get to it. But for now I'm just enjoying being Mr. Ethan Crane's girl."

Whitney couldn't hide the worry in her eyes.

"Whitney don't worry, please. Ethan and I are together now, and there is nothing anyone can do to keep us apart."

"Theresa you are such a dreamer. If you think that you will ever be Mrs. Ethan Crane, your deluded. I know you don't want to hear this, but it's true. Stop dreaming honey."

"You're right Whitney, I don't want to hear this. Only a fool wouldn't go after what they wanted. You can't just sit and dream about what you want. You have to do something about achieving your goals."

"Theresa please!"

"No Whit! I'm sorry. There is nothing you or mama can do to change what my heart is feeling. Absolutely nothing! Now, let's go down to the book café. I would like to thank Chad for having faith in me and Ethan."

Theresa and Whitney headed out the door and went to the book café to see Chad.

At the Book Café

"Ethan order the coffees, I'll find a table." Gwen said smiling.

"All right." Ethan said hoping this wouldn't take long.

Chad was standing behind the counter when Ethan walked up.

"What's up man." Chad said reaching out his hand to shake Ethan's. "I see you and Gwen are still together. Still can't be honest with her that you're in love with Theresa huh?"

"It's not what you think Chad." Ethan said shaking his hand. "As a matter of fact I..."

Just at that moment Gwen called over to Ethan.

"Ethan darling, I found a good seat."

Ethan turned and faced the direction to where Gwen was standing, and turned back to Chad.

"Your girl is calling you man, I think you better go."

"Chad wait, it's not what you think." But before Ethan could get another word out, someone motioned Chad for their check.

Ethan took the coffees over to their table with a disturbed look on his face.

"What's the matter darling? Why do you look so disturbed?"

Ethan sat the coffees down.

"That's just it Gwen. You shouldn't be calling me darling anymore."

"Well I don't see why not. I was calling you that yesterday."

"Well a lot has happened since yesterday."

"Yeah please don't remind me."

"Well that is why we are here, for you to get closure. Right?"

"Well, I was hoping that we could work out this little tiff between us, and that you would realize that you still loved me."

"Look Gwen, I have to go. I'm real sorry for the way things worked out, but I'm in love with Theresa, and I don't want to hide it any longer. She's my breath of fresh air and I can't imagine my life without her in it. Now I know this is not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. I'm sorry."

"You're sorry? You're sorry? This is that little wench’s entire fault. I knew she was out to get you all along. What did she do to you Ethan? Did she hypnotize you or something? What is really going on?"

"That's enough Gwen. You're upset. I think you should stop now before you say something you'll regret."

Just at that moment Whitney and Theresa came through the door laughing and giggling. Gwen saw Theresa come in, and made sure she spotted her and Ethan together.

"Oh Ethan!" Gwen happily cried out throwing her arms around him, kissing him smack dab on the lips.

"Oh no. This can't be." Theresa said, eyes filling with tears. She then ran out of the book café with tears falling from her eyes.

"Gwen! What do you think you're doing?" Ethan said pulling away.

Just at that moment, Ethan heard Whitney's voice calling out to Theresa as she ran out of the café.

"Oh no, Theresa!" Ethan turned around and gave an angry sigh at Gwen and ran out to find his girlfriend.

"Whitney, where did she go?" Ethan said grabbing Whitney's arm.

"I don't know Ethan. She didn't want me to follow."

Ethan turned in the direction Whitney was looking and ran off to find Theresa.

Just as Whitney stepped back into the book café, Gwen walked up to her.

"You tell your little friend that this isn't over. No one is going to steal my glory of being Mrs. Ethan Crane. Especially the housekeeper daughter." And she stormed out.

"What the hell is going on around here!" Chad said feeling left out.

"I'll explain." Whitney said smiling at Chad. "Do you have a moment? Because it's gonna be a while."

Back at the Penthouse

Ringgggg, Ringgggg, Ringgggg.

Theresa was so wrapped up in her memories that she didn't notice the phone ringing. When she finally snapped out of it, she looked at the clock.

"Oh no, 9:11."

She picked up the phone in a desperate attempt.

"Hello, hello! Is anyone there? Hello!"

But all she heard was a dial tone. The caller had already hung up.

"Oh no! I can't believe I missed his call. What is fate trying to do to me? I have never missed Ethan's call before. I need to call him."

Theresa dialed Ethan's number.

"No answer. Where is he?"

Theresa tried again and again, but there was no answer. She hadn't felt this terrible in such a long time.

"What I'm I going to do now?" Theresa said with a worried look on her face.

She had never missed Ethan's 9:10 phone calls. This didn't sit right with her. She believed that fate was at work, and that something was about to happen that would cause her and Ethan's love a lot of grief.
