It was faraway that Brushy could ever be the same as she were before, bright and happy but this temporary contentness, however clumsily molded and artificial it may be, it would show her what it was like before. She smies in what she hopes is in an encouraging manner, what she was doing was right although Jesar she was unsure of. Having never even spoken to the stallion, she knew not what to say to him and so kept her mouth shut.

Apollo held an active comtempt for anyone who ordered him around without having first earned his respect or fear. His jaw set in a frown. So far this twin sister of his had failed to impress him. "No," he responded stoutly, sticking out his tounge from the saftey of his mother's protection. Pleased with himself, he beamed up at Brush Fire, never dreaming that smiles and tolerance were only the shadow of her love.

Brushy, for her part, stared steadily back at her son, noting with contempt that he resembled a calf waiting for the butcher. She shook herself inside, and raised her head to look at Desire. The silence between them was noteable, even for unanalytical Brushy in her most absent mood, and she wondered why she could not remember whether they had been introduced. "Desire, you remember Jesar, don't you? My mate. Jesar, this is Desire. My oldest friend."

She glares at her brother, irked by his impudence. She clumsily pins his head down with a tiny hoof, flapping her wings around to maintain her balance. ~Momma's boy,~

"Hello Desire," he says politely. He wanted to talk to Desire and find out more about Brushy, she never had told him much about herself.

"Ouuush!" He kicked out wildly with a hoof, aiming in the general direction of his sister. The movement gave him enough momentum to free himself from her dominent position, and he immediately flew to his feet, bumping Brushy harshly. His eyes flew wide and he skittered away from his mother, slamming into Medusa in his flight.


Her boy's obvious fear of her registered only vaugly. Slowly, and as deliberately as a plow horse, she turned away from his wide-eyed terror and informed the stallion and mare, "I'm going to go for a little walk." Without waiting for a response, she plodded slowly off toward the hot spring.
