interestingly, a local resident is Dave Hawker, one time PR man for the JA; later regarded as a traitor, who was demoted and shunned for advocating greater openness to other churches. But for his challenges to the cult's attitude, the JA might never have abandoned their claims to being THE kingdom of God on Earth...and the only church in England which God blessed.
